Online Showroom packages that allow you to maintain your own catalogue.

Intro

If you're in the business of selling new or second hand goods OFFLINE and would like not only to have an online brochure detailing your services, but also to display multiple items to your customers via the web, an online showroom site is for you.

A cross between a static and full ecommerce site, the online showroom allows you categorize items and upload detailed descriptions and photographs to your web site without needing to know anything about web design.

Built on powerful database and scripting software, users can employ the built in search tool to sift through your catalogue and find easily the product they're looking for. And it's just as simple for you to amend items as required (for instance if an item is sold).

Combined with your existing offline marketing, an online showroom is a brilliant way to reach out to new customers.

E-Commerce / Online Shops

Intro

Selling online has a number of advantages compared with selling by conventional methods, including the following:

  • Savings in set-up and operational costs. You will not need to pay shop assistants, rent high-street premises, or answer a lot of pre-sales queries.
  • Customer orders can automatically come straight into your orders' database from the website, reducing the costs of order processing.
  • You can reach a much wider audience as you will be able to be contacted by people worldwide, giving you the ability to increase sales.
  • You can compete with larger businesses.
  • You'll receive payments more quickly from online transactions.
  • Your business can be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
  • You should be able to give better customer service and attract more loyal customers.
  • You will be able to track purchases and use data you collect to improve your offering.
  • Your online shop can function as a catalogue for existing customers.

Sherbrook Selectables - an online shop with PayPal and full CMS

Selling online does not benefit every type of business. Online selling will work best for you if you have:

  • Well-defined products or services that can be sold without human intervention in the sales process.
  • Fixed prices for all types of potential customers.
  • Products or services that can be delivered with a predictable lead time.

Q: What's the difference between a 1, a 2 and a 3 tier database?

A: Flexibility on your and the final users part, complexity on ours. In a nutshell, you can consider the three 'tiers' as follows:

  • 1 tier: A simple list of products that can be as long as you like
  • 2 tier: Create a category and put relevant items in it, then create another category and put items in that. Repeat.
  • 3 tier: Create a top level category. Then create sub categories in each top level category. Then place items in each sub category. Repeat.

To decide which type of database you need, consider the above model. Or, if you can't decide, contact us and we'll help you decide!
